Most of us started out working a desk. But, from our trucks, mud-caked boots, flannels, fishing rods and hunting gear called our names. For those of us at 10,000 DOCKS, getting outside was always the best part of our day. And heading to the water was the best of the best.

We're the kind of people who like being outside with the wind in our face and the spray of a wave running down our arms.

When a neighbor needed help with a dock, we were there. When a friend of a friend needed an accessible dock and boat lift, we built it. It's what we did. For more than 40-years. Then it occurred to us, we like doing this. A lot. And we're really good at it. Today, the outdoors is our office. We're where we love to be.

So, we built on our experience, with advanced training. We got licensed, insured, dealer certified, and DNR permitted. As a DNR Lake Service Provider, we built on our experience as specialists in structural safety by becoming authorized in invasive species decontamination. Installing docks and boat lifts that are safe at every level is our speciality.

"There's nothing I love more," says owner-operator, Eric Swenson (above, left), then putting my barge (left) in a lake when its cold and the wind is whipping and the rain is pelting our faces. It makes me feel alive. And, when I put in a dock or lift and make someone's life easier or safer, I know I'm in the right place."

That said, Eric is a stickler for safety. When weather conditions would place your equipment or his team at risk, rescheduling is essential.

Local Twin Citians who live on the lakes couldn't be happier. Because, it's true, a lot of lake-lovers prefer sun and warm waters to braving the icey shoals of Spring and Fall that dock maintenance require.

"People don't realize," adds Eric, "That an improperly balanced dock (in the Spring) is a hazard all season long. Putting a dock in right means that it’s safe not only for us, but that it's safe when hoards of friends and family crowd onto the dock, jostling to throw one another into the lake."

Eric and his 10,000 DOCKS team take pride in the way they install your dock. And, in the way they take it out. "Sometimes people don't realize that you can't just yank a dock out of the lake in the fall," says Eric. "How you take it out and store it, decides how well it works the following year. We provide that kind of care, that protects people and equipment, the kind of care that creates the kind of lake-life we all love."
